As a person working with fiberglass, and If we want to continue with our careers within this area, We need to learn more about it.

Here is something I want to share when you are doing fiberglass business.

Learning about fiberglass products

Fiberglass products have many specs, and we have to learn it from two ways.

1. Customers’ requirements

Different cumtomers have different requirements, you just can’t take it all the same.

For example, one customer makes FRP pot with emulsion binder chopped strand mat, he want the fiberglass chopped strand mat to be thin depressed, so that he can save some resin, because the resin price is much higher.

While another customer who makes FRP septic tanks using fiberglass woven roving, he wants the fiberglass woven roving to be loose, and make one layer looks more thick.

2. Companies’ starndard specs

For the chinese fiberglass companies, they don’t use the same standard when they producing their products.

For example, the woven roving 400g/㎡, the area weight is all about the same, but the weaving density of warp and weft are much different. One is 3.2*3.8, one is 3.4*3.3, one is 3.8*3.4, etc. And the warp roving and weft roving in using also have differences between different companies.

After learning from customer’s requirements, then we produce it according the requirements and get business done.
